Laugh in: Many Sandhill Winery bottles were uncorked at Vancouver TheatreSports League’s Grapes of Laugh benefit. The annual wine tasting and comedy night saw improv actors yuk it up for laughs and cash. Fronted by executive director Jay Ono, board president Marlie Oden and wine expert James Nevison, the event raised thousands of dollars to bring shows to kids in schools and disadvantaged communities.
Mystère solved: A lucky 170 people attended the exclusive Brasserie Mystère dinner as part of Dine Out Vancouver. The mystery chef for the three-course dinner, paired with Kronenbourg 1664, in a mystery location, turned out to be none other than C Restaurant’s Robert Clark and Lee Humphries doing the honours at the Salt Building on West First. The promotional free dinner attracted more than 5,000 entries.
Revealing photos: Brasserie Mystère guest Danny Filippone revealed his Penthouse Nightclub, currently under renos due to a November fire, will reopen March 1 and will feature B.C.’s largest amateur exotic dancer contest. Many of the strip club’s classic photos were thankfully saved and will be published in a bedside table book to be published by Arsenal Pulp Press.
