To the editor:

Re: "Online fundraising campaign benefits disease-stricken family," Aug. 24.

Online thank you is thoughtful, handshake is gracious, phone call is nice, hug is good, handwritten note is welcome, coffee is friendly.

The story reads: "Those who donate $1,000 can receive all the above plus a $10 coffee gift card and a photo."

Who is raising funds for who? There is a bit in the Bible about helping and giving without expecting anything in return.

Incidentally, for us computer resistants, what's the Myers family address?

David G. Hawkins, Vancouver
