The Spark Animation Conference and Festival takes over Vancity Theatre Sept. 12 to 16 for five days of speakers, documentaries and feature films from some of the best animation and visual effects studios around the world, including the stop-animation visual feast from Czech Republic Toys in the Attic. Now in its 12th year, the New Forms Festival spreads its innovative tentacles across the city Sept. 13 to 16 with a mandate to make new media art, music, film, technology-based installation and performance accessible to a wider audience.
