Surrey's growth needs to be curbed

The Editor,

Re: "Unsustainable growth nothing to brag about," the Now letters, Feb. 14.

Stephanie Ryan is absolutely right with her comments about Surrey's growth.

Nobody - certainly not Dianne Watts and her council - seems to be able or willing to stop this kind of ill-managed and festering growth.

We need to have more hospitals, schools, public transportation, but instead we get an endless influx of people, cheap housing developments and industrial-looking box stores and strip malls.

Surrey has become the ugliest city I have ever lived in. Watts should be ashamed to be an important force behind the 'uglinization' of Surrey.
