Tell Vancouver council what you think about telling council what you think

Online survey about council meeting procedures open until Jan. 31
Vancouver city hall
Have you ever addressed a Vancouver city council meeting? Why or not?

When the City of Vancouver held public hearings into whether to allow home-sharing, one woman found the process of speaking to council so anxiety-inducing that she fainted.

Not every presentation to council causes such stress. However, the city is reviewing its council meeting procedures to see if there is a simpler and more efficient way for people to speak at council meetings.

It is inviting people to share their thoughts and experiences in an online survey. It will take 12 minutes to complete. People who haven’t addressed council are also invited to participate.

Comments will be taken into consideration when council changes the procedural bylaw to govern the conduct of all meetings at council.

The survey closes January 31 and is available here.
