Dine Out Vancouver, Canada’s largest food and drink festival, is back for 2016. From January 15 – 31, a record-setting 288 restaurants will be serving three-course, prix fixe menus at affordable prices ($20, $30, and $40)

This year also includes a collection of events designed for foodies, including cocktail masterclasses, live performances, brunch crawls, and beer tastings.

Restaurants range from up-and-coming spots to internationally acclaimed, best-of-the-city establishments. Courses are often matched with optional BC VQA wine pairings, which offer the opportunity to sample British Columbia’s best wineries.

Dine Out Vancouver is the perfect time to try something out of your usual comfort zone (culinary or financial). And Evo is the perfect way to travel to your dining destination, whether it’s a date for two, or a dinner for five.  It’s the easiest too, since you can simply park in one of many designated areas, then take a cab home after indulging in a glass of wine or two.

In the spirit of making sustainable, local choices, we’ve highlighted some of the best farm-to-table restaurants and events available during Dine Out Vancouver.  Bon appetit!

With an airy, modern interior and menus offering locally sourced ingredients and Ocean Wise seafood, Beach Bay highlights exactly what makes the Pacific Northwest so special.

If you haven’t been to the Acorn, you likely haven’t experienced vegetables at their finest: the Acorn is enough to make even the most devout carnivore consider converting. This event features a five-course tasting menu by their internationally acclaimed team, paired with unique cocktails mixed by Odd Society Spirits distillery, meaning the cozy interior won’t be the only thing keeping you warm.

Edible Canada

Granville Island, $30, 3 course menu

Edible Canada’s menu seeks to celebrate Canadian cuisine from coast to coast, seamlessly blending east coast rustic dishes like split-pea soup with west coast wild-caught fish. With one of the most extensive menus in the festival, Edible Canada is the ideal restaurant to visit with a group - you’re sure to find something to suit everyone in your party. Leave the car in one of Evo’s designated spots, and enjoy a night out Granville Island.

Juniper is Chinatown’s new kid on the block, offering Cascadian-inspired fare using seasonal, local ingredients, small-batch local distilleries, and locally produced beer and wine. Park in Evo’s nearby lot and explore one of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods on your way to sampling Juniper’s elk empanada. Are you truly Canadian before you have eaten elk? We’ll leave that up to you to decide.
