To the editor:

Re: "Harper's policies lead to boycott of Canada Day," June 27.

I will take my lead from Courier columnist Fiona Hughes and boycott Canada Day. Some message of dissent has to reach Harper. When Peter Kent, Canada's environment minister, came to speak at the Durban conference, Canadian youth at the conference stood up in unison and turned their back on the minister. They all sported T-shirts with the message "Turn your back on Canada." It is time to stand in the right direction in support of the youth. They will after all bear the brunt of our stupidity as humanity goes full throttle in a runaway train wreck that will not see the century out.
