With names like Carcass, Bloodbath, Sacrifice and Pallbearer, it’s safe to assume the third rendition of the annual Modified Ghost Festival will once again be a family affair.

The largest Canadian metal festival outside of Toronto and Montreal happens exactly two months to the day and is spread across five days at the Rickshaw Theatre.

A number of Vancouver bands are on the five-day bill alongside established, professional acts from across the globe.

The bloodshed and blastbeats kick off May 23 with a show headlined by Florida death metal veterans Obituary, who’ll be joined by Skeletonwitch, Dust Bolt, Untimely Demise and Bushwhacker.

May 24 sees Bloodbath handling headliner duties, and they’ll be joined by The Black Dahlia Murder, Beyond Creation, Gatecreeper, Kataplexis and WTCHDR.

The oh-so-subtle fellas in Bongripper take the reins on May 25 with Yob, Ruby the Hatchet, Electric Citizen, Dead Quiet, Hoopsnake and Seer.

Arguably the biggest name on the bill, U.K. death metal pioneers Carcass headline the Rickshaw May 26 alongside Sacrifice, Nails, Midnight, BAT, Aggression and Wormwitch.

In keeping with the worm theme, Woolworm kicks off Night 5. Power Trip closes out the show, while Sheer Mag, Fury, Waingro and Red Death are the other support acts.

Lovely.

Single show tickets cost between $40 and $45, while a full festival pass goes for $170.
