Dan the Man: Transforming one of Canada's top business schools into a global leader, outgoing Sauder School of Business dean Dan Muzyka was feted at a celebratory gala held at the Hotel Vancouver. Faculty, staff, students and alumni along with business and community leaders gathered for the formal roast honouring the accomplishments of "Dean Dan." During his 13-year tenure, Muzyka has boosted the school's profile where it ranks among the world's top 100 business schools. A $100,000 endowment was announced in Muzyka's name.

Frocks on the block: Real Housewives of Vancouver star Ronnie Negus was the special guest at IMAGINE, a benefit for the B.C. Centre for Ability. Fashionistas gathered at the Jacqueline Conoir showroom for the evening of shopping and fundraising. After much mixing and mingling and exchanges of air kisses, six designer dresses were auctioned off in support of programs and services for persons living with disabilities.

Retail therapy: Born out of the recession, Fashion's Night Out was a global initiative created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence and boost the industry's bottom line. Jason Matlo's fall-winter collection headlined the official launch of Vanhattan's version. The local boy will be among a select group of designers, retailers, boutiques and restaurants participating in the Sept. 6 showcase.
