Imagine it - an evening complete with culinary creations, circus performers, auctions and prizes.
SHARE's annual Imagine gala will include all this and more at the Red Robinson Show Theatre on Saturday, March 3.
Foodies can cast their vote for their favourite dessert or tapas served at the fundraiser. Savoury selections include prosciutto scallop with pesto by the Port Moody Boathouse, Merguez meringue by Christine Catering Company Inc., crackling sirloin steak bites by Mr. Mike's Steakhouse & Bar, and Mikey's handmade meatballs in marinara sauce by Wilbur & Sabastian's smokehouse & bistro.
Sweet treats will include peanut brittle banana Savarin cake with jelly fruit compote by Backstage Grille, great Canadian breakfast cake by Luscious Creations and berry cheesecake by White Spot Restaurants. Prizes will be awarded by celebrity judges Chef Dez, Chef Victor Bongo, Chef Edgar Rahal, Chef Matthew Richmond and Chef Rob Langford.
Meanwhile, The Underground Circus will entertain with their acrobatic feats. BC Lions wide receiver Geroy Simon will also be a special guest at the event.
Hosted by Steve Darling of Global TV and Karen Daniels of JRFM, Imagine 2012 will feature live and silent auctions. Live auction prizes include a two-night stay at TinHorn Creek Vineyards, a fivecourse gourmet dinner and wine at your home, and a Seattle weekend and cruise getaway.
Event-goers can try their luck at a prize raffle, featuring round-trip tickets for two to anywhere WestJet flies, 14karat white gold diamond hoop earrings by Britton Diamonds and a $500 Vancity Visa card.
Last year's event raised more than $100,000 to help SHARE deliver its programs and services, such as the food bank, the Christmas toy program, children's therapy services and substance abuse counselling.
Tickets cost $65 and are available by calling 604-540-9161 or visiting www. imagine.sharesociety.ca. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
Registration opens at 6 p.m., and doors to the main event open at 6: 30 p.m. at 2080 United Blvd. in Coquitlam. The dress code is business casual.
For those who can't attend the event, donations can be made online at DonateToShare.ca.
