Can you imagine driving across Canada without gassing up? This will soon become reality.

Natural Resources Canada announced Wednesday an additional $120 million investment for electric vehicle and alternative fuel vehicle infrastructures, such as electric chargers, natural gas and hydrogen refuelling stations.

“Electric, hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles are the future of transportation,” according to a new release from Natural Resources Canada.

In a video released from Natural Resource Canada, they said that it’s their goal “to make sure people can drive from St. John’s, N.L. to Victoria, B.C. without range anxiety.”

Jim Carr, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources said 'the investments support the ingenuity of Canadian electric vehicle and alternative fuel companies.

“Green infrastructure is paving the way to a low-carbon future in both commercial and consumer markets.”

Organizations can now apply for funding, with proposals being accepted for deployment and demonstration projects on electric vehicle charging and alternative refueling stations.
