Scientists worldwide agree about the main causes of climate change so why can’t the international community, including Canadian politicians and many citizens around the globe, reach a consensus on workable solutions? This is the question put forth by Mike Hulme, a University of East Anglia professor of environmental science. Hulme will present his ideas at a free lecture Feb. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the SFU Harbour Centre (515 West Hastings St.). Hulme will argue for the need to look beyond science and connect with “people’s world views, beliefs and values” in the search for solutions. Register at profmikehulme.eventbrite.com.
