A Real Sparkler: Four-time chair Diane Norton presided over the 26th annual Crystal Ball, one of the city's preeminent charity galas. Over 400 well-heeled guests gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel for the black-tie affair benefitting B.C. Children's Hospital. Aaron McArthur and Elaine Yong of Global BC TV, whose daughter Addison had a heart transplant at BC Children's Hospital last year, emceed the gala-do that raised an impressive $1.1 million.

Dozens Walk Down the Aisle: The B.C. Wedding Awards recognizes the most prestigious companies in B.C.'s wedding industry that push the industry forward by offering outstanding products and services. Yours truly emceed the third running held at Richmond's River Rock Show Theatre. Awards in hair, makeup, jewelry, photography, catering and venue were handed out at the stellar affair. Among the winners were Flower Factory, Vancouver Club and Anna Elizabeth Cakes.

Potter No More: Daniel Radcliffe, who rose to prominence in the Harry Potter series, headlined the 12th annual Whistler Film Festival. The 23-year-old British actor sat down with CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos for a special presentation, part of the five-day, 75-film celluloid celebration. Stroumboulopoulos later hosted Radcliffe and others at an exclusive benefit dinner in support of Artists for Peace and Justice, a non-profit addressing issues of poverty around the world.
