Lucky number 13 is one of 14 stylish lofts in the Brewery Creek Building, a Mount Pleasant Class 'A' heritage structure, which has served as a packing plant, candy factory, dairy, ice plant and, now, boutique lofts over its 107 years. The conversion to artist live-work studios was completed in 1993. Actress Tristin Leffler recalls doing a photo shoot at the building years ago and being immediately charmed. She and her boyfriend left the West End for Mount Pleasant in 2008, specifically to buy into the Brewery Creek Building and they have been renovating their sun-dappled suite ever since, Leffler says. Last year, the couple added another addition — a baby daughter — and are looking for something more suited to a small family, and not necessarily in Mount Pleasant. "I would live [in the Brewery Creek Building] forever, if I could… but it’s just not for us anymore."
