Sadly, the Waldorf Hotel is closing but this won't stop their formerly weekly improvised soap opera SIN PEAKS from launching what would've been the debut of their second season with a SOAP-A-THON fundraiser. Lasting a whopping 30 hours and set during a zombie apocalypse, SIN PEAKS: STALKING DEAD will start Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. and last until the following day at midnight at the Waldorf Cabaret. Tickets $10 for single entry or $15 for a two-way pass.
Pacific Cinematheque pays tribute to author Ray Bradbury who died last year with a screening of Fran‡ois Truffaut's 1966 adaptation of Bradbury's dystopian novel FAHRENHEIT 451. Not only was it the French director's first film in colour, but it stars OSKAR WERNER and the always beguiling JULIE CHRISTIE. See for yourself, Jan. 11 and 12. More info at thecinematheque.ca.
