Fusing the classic works of Edgar Allen Poe with the conventions of ’80s slasher films, and an underscore of old time radio plays, ITSAZOO Productions remounts its chilling site-specific play Debts in the equally chilling historic Roedde House Museum (1415 Barclay St.) Oct. 17 to Nov. 3. Each performance has a capacity of 15 people, so advance tickets are recommended at brownpapertickets.com/event/276048. More info at itsazoo.org.

Trust us, your musical cred will go through the roof when you tell people you saw Krautrock legends Faust at the Waldorf, Oct. 17. Formed in Wumme, Germany, in 1971, Faust, along with fellow countrymen Can, Neu! and Kraftwerk, have influenced everyone from Brian Eno and Joy Division to My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth with their deconstructed, drone-filled stylings. Midday Veil and Von Bingen open. Tickets at Red Cat, Zulu, Highlife, Beat Street or waldorfhotel.com.
Despite what the title suggests, The Unplugging is not about Hootie and the Blowfish’s daring, stripped-down 1996 performance for MTV Unplugged, but Aboriginal playwright and artist Yvette Nolan’s play based on an Athabascan legend about two women seeking shelter in the freezing, desolate landscape of a post-apocalyptic Canada. Although that does sound eerily like the premise to Hootie’s “Let Her Cry.” The Arts Club production runs until Nov. 3 at Granville Island’s Revue Stage. Call 604-687-1644 or go to artsclub.com.
