While some people prefer to go the gym or attempt hot yoga for the first time, for our money the best way to feel inadequate about our physical prowess is to take in a few gravity-defying flicks at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. Described as "10 nights of action, adventure and adrenaline," the festival features more than 50 films from 13 countries and nine guest speakers. The equivalent of Viagra to MEC members runs Feb. 8 to 17 at the Rio Theatre, Pacific Cinematheque and North Van's Centennial Theatre. For tickets and info, go to vimff.org.
