Look Mummy, I'm Dancing is Belgium theatre artist Vanessa Van Durme's funny and touching autobiographical tale of growing up as a boy and the journey she underwent as one of the pioneering transsexuals of her time. It runs Jan. 23 to 25 as part of the PuSh Festival's Club PuSh at Performance Works on Granville Island. More info at pushfestival.ca.
It's the '90s all over again as what's left of potty-mouthed rappers 2 Live Crew drop by Fortune Sound Club Jan. 23 with their "world famous xxx dancers" to play hits like "Me So Horny" to the hip masses who crave both nostalgia and irony. By all accounts, it should be an enjoyably nasty time. Tickets at Ticketzone, Highlife, DIPT, Red Cat and Beatstreet. More info at fortunesoundclub.com.
From rapper to Ottawa cable access show host to MTV celebrity to cancer survivor to failed Hollywood actor to whatever he's been doing for the past 10 years, comedian Tom Green is now working the standup comedy club circuit and maintaining a lush, cerebral-looking beard. He'll be doing his thing at Yuk Yuk's Jan. 24 to 26. For tickets and info, call 604-696-9857 or go to yukyuks.com.
