'Tis the season when parking violators can absolve themselves by helping the Salvation Army. The annual Toys for Tickets campaign is a four-hour event during which anyone in Vancouver, Kamloops, Kelowna or Prince George with an unpaid Impark parking ticket can have it waived by making a toy donation to the Salvation Army.
On Thursday, Nov. 24, Impark will be accepting new unwrapped toys and in exchange, each donor's unpaid parking ticket will be waived. Those with multiple violations will have to bring in multiple new, unwrapped toys. Donors must bring a copy of their violation notice(s), statements or their license plate number in order to ensure proper credit of their account. In Vancouver, Impark will be accepting toys from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Belkin House located at 555 Homer St. All toys donated will be used for the Salvation Army's Christmas relief efforts. Gifts requested include puzzles, DVDs, books, CDs and gift cards.
