Bryan Adams’ power ballad “Heaven” reaches the top of the Billboard Top 40 charts. It’s the first number one single for the Vancouver-raised rock star, which appeared on the soundtrack for the box office bomb A Night in Heaven two years previous and was rereleased as the third single from his sophomore album Reckless.

Two music videos were eventually shot for the song, with the lesser known version filmed at the Stanley Theatre on Granville Street.

A dance remix by DJ Sammy with additional vocals by Dutch singer Do also reached number one on the U.K. charts in 2001.
