A barred owl that was found injured in downtown Vancouver was taken in by the Wildlife Rescue Association of B.C.

It’s suffering from several injuries to its left side, including a swollen left eye, damaged primary feathers on its left wing, and blood pooling in its mouth.

Due to the nature of the injuries, the association says it appears the owl was hit by a car.

It’s since been transferred to O.W.L. — Orphaned Wildlife in Delta — for continued rehabilitation.
