It’s going to be a wet weekend in Metro Vancouver

It  looks like you’re going to need a bigger boat — or umbrella — thanks to another wave of heavy rainfall forecast to soak the Metro Vancouver region into the weekend.

Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning Friday afternoon for Metro Vancouver (northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge and southeast including Surrey and Langley) and the North Shore.

It’s another fall storm that’s hitting us, starting overnight over Vancouver Island and reaching the mainland by morning. We can expect intensified showers Saturday afternoon and evening, with a few showers lingering into Sunday.

Fifty to 70 millimetres of rain is expected depending on location, according to Environment Canada, with flooding possible in some areas.

This might be a great weekend to reacquaint yourself with some of the best things to do in Vancouver on a rainy day, or curl up with a great book and a beer. If you’re venturing out for comfort eats, Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese might just hit the spot on what’s shaping up to be one helluva sopping wet Saturday.
