For the first time ever, the Dota 2 championship is bringing the battlefield to Vancouver. The world’s largest annual eSports tournament will be held at Rogers Arena from August 20 to 25.

The international championship is known for its large prize pool of tens of millions of dollars. Last year the pool reached $24 million and the final winner, European team Liquid, took home $10.8 million, while Chinese team Newbee won the second place with $3.9 million. In 2015, team Evil Geniuses, which had a Vancouver player, Kurtis Ling, took home the grand prize of $6.6 million.

Dota 2, developed by Valve Corporation, is a multiplayer online battle arena game with 10 million players in the world. It is the most played game on Steam as well.

The tournament was introduced for the first time at the Gamescom convention in Cologne, Germany in 2011. After that, the annual championship had held continuously at KeyArena in Seattle, Washington for six years.

Valve Corporation didn’t mention the reason for the venue change, but it could be influenced by KeyArena’s renovation plan.

The company announced in a blog post that the tickets will go on sale Friday, March 23 at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. with two different types of tickets. The “Midweek ticket” grants access to the first four days of the event for $125, while “Finals ticket” only allows attendance to the last two days event for $250.

Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster. For more information about tickets, visit Dota2 ticketing FAQ.
