On Thursday a man boarded the 9 p.m. ferry in his vehicle departing from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen.

“Upon arrival at Tsawwassen, the man did not return to his vehicle, which was abandoned on the ferry,” said a Delta Police Department news release. “Police completed a search of the ferry and could not locate him.”

DPD is working with Sydney RCMP and BC Ferries to obtain any video footage to determine what may have occurred.

“At this time, there is no reason to believe the circumstances around his disappearance are suspicious,” added DPD.

The missing man is Caucasian with a heavy build, 5’9,” 225 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He was last scene wearing a grey sweater, with dark grey/black pants

Police are asking any ferry passengers or potential witnesses at either Swartz Bay or Tsawwassen who may have seen the man to contact Delta police at 604-946-4411.
