Street argument in East Vancouver results in seventh homicide in 2018

An argument that escalated into violence has resulted in Vancouver’s seventh homicide in 2018.

Homicide detectives with the Vancouver Police Department have made an arrest after 55-year-old Vancouver resident Dam Minh Huu succumbed to his injuries.

Just before 1:30 this morning, police and ambulance responded to Kingsway and Nanaimo Street for an injured man. The man was identified as Huu, and he was transported to hospital where he died. 

Detectives arrested a 48-year-old Vancouver man for Mr.Huu's murder and are continuing to piece the evidence together. 

Police say the evidence suggests that the two men knew each other. They got into an argument on the street a few blocks from where Huu was located. 

Homicide detectives are not looking for any other suspects and do not believe the public is at risk.

This investigation is on going and there is no further information to release at this time.
