Third arrest in Surrey shooting that killed Kacey Rogers

SURREY - Police have made a third arrest in the shooting death of Kacey Rogers, 31, who was killed in his home in the 14000-block of Grosvenor Road in Surrey last month. Fabian Lyde, 18, of Richmond, was arrested Friday in connection with the murder and appeared in court Monday morning to face the charge of second-degree murder and weapons-related offences. Also charged in the case are Russell Bidesi, 21, of Surrey, and Joshua Martinez, 19, of New Westminster. They were both arrested on Feb. 28 for the murder two days earlier. "The fact that three men have been arrested, charged and remain in custody, in only a matter of weeks, speaks to the dedication of all police jurisdictions involved," said Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. Rogers was not known to police prior to his death.Pound said that investigators are still trying to determine if there are any links to drugs or gangs. While it is not yet known why Rogers was killed. She said "it appears to be a targeted attack."
