A injured worker was transported by air ambulance to a Vancouver area hospital Thursday afternoon after a fall at a townhouse construction site in Tsawwassen.

WorkSafeBC is investigating after a worker was injured on a construction site Thursday afternoon in Tsawwassen.

Just before 2 p.m. WorkSafe was notified by Delta police of what was described as a serious workplace incident.

“Preliminary details indicate a worker was seriously injured after falling from a height on a residential townhouse construction site located at 1895 Osprey Road in Delta,” said WorkSafe spokesperson Gillian Burnett in an email to the Delta Optimist Friday morning.

During the initial call-out, police, Delta fire and paramedics responded. The injured worker was flown from the scene by medivac to an area hospital.

Burnett said she could not provide an update on what the injuries were, how serious they were or what hospital the injured worker was taken too.

“All I can confirm is that the scene has been handed over to WorkSafeBC,” she said.
