The blood-splattered walls of K&K’s dojo can breathe a sigh of relief and finally undergo its long-awaited makeover. On Tuesday, Benjamin Moore announced its “highly anticipated” Colour of the Year for 2014: Breath of Fresh Air (colour number 806).

According to a press release, BOFA (as we like to call it) is part of the company’s Colour Trends 2014 palette and is “a gorgeous, ethereal blue serving as a ‘new neutral’ that is livable and functional.” We love colours that are livable!

In case you’re wondering, previous winners include Lemon Sorbet (2013), Wythe Blue (2012) and Vintage Wine (2011), which if you ask us are a little too wimpy and delicious-sounding for our liking.

Sadly, K&K’s suggestions for Colour of the Year were once again ignored by Benjamin Moore brass (which also sounds like a colour). They included: Pit Stain Yellow, Bootsauce, Badger Placenta, Sedins Ginger Merkin, Garth Butcher’s Cloudy Pee, Red Leather, Shane Foxman’s Secret Ringworm, Tim Hortons Coffee Phlegm, Lactating Woodchuck, Pastel Getty and the Golden Girls Thank Your For Being a Friend Collection, Luongo’s Taint, Hue Jackman, Passion of the Macarenko, Miley Cyrus’s Annoying Tongue, Faded Bobby Brown, Call of Duty: Black Ops II Thumb Blister, Unknown Hotel Bedspread Stain, Gregor Robertson’s Glistening Hamstring After a Bitchin’ Four-Kilometre Bike Ride to Work, and Beige Against the Machine.
