Ram Nayyar, the lead badminton professional at the Vancouver Lawn, Tennis and Badminton Club, was promoted Wednesday by Badminton Canada. Already a national team coach who led Team Canada at the 2012 London Games, Nayyar was selected as the country’s high performance director and is responsible for exactly that: the performance and achievement of Canadian badminton players. He will lead the coaching staff and direct policy. Nayyar will remain in Vancouver as the head pro at the Fir Street club.
