Gordon skates for gold at junior national championships

Vancouver figureskater Mitchell Gordon is a junior Canadian champion.

The 15-year-old Kitsilano secondary student won gold this week in Moncton, N.B. at the 2012 Canadian Figure Skating Championships.

His combined score in the free skate and short program put him ahead of Peter O’Brien and Joel Bond, both from Ontario.

Gordon’s win this month as a junior skater follows last year’s break-out success at the Canadian championships in Victoria where he won gold as a novice.
