Richmond Chinese Community Society Asian Heritage Fair 2012
This event celebrates the diverse culture and achievements of Asians who play a vital role in the unique and multicultural mosaic of Canada. The focus is for Canadians to learn about the Asian-Canadians in our society. The opening ceremony starts at 12 p.m. followed by cultural booths and performances until 5 p.m.

Curator's Tour & Lunch with Art Gallery curator Nan Capogna
Join us at the gallery for lunch and a quick tour of the current exhibition, My Big Family by Hua Jin. Using photography and video the artist documents and reflects on her personal experience as the first generation of "only" child families and examines what this might mean for families, the community and the country. The tour runs from 12 to 1 p.m., $10 includes the tour and a tasty lunch.

Steveston Folk Guild at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard
Features Highrise Lonesome A unique blend of bluegrass and roots music. Vocals by Sue Malcolm and Vic Smyth are a major part of the sound. Various instruments played by Don Fraser, Stu McDonald and Jay Buckwold. While honouring their bluegrass roots, they love to explore and branch out to create original new sounds. The show begins at 7: 30 p.m. with tickets at $8.
