Re: "Food Money," Central Park, Sept. 28.
So Vision Vancouver park board commissioner Constance Barnes wants to raise awareness about the perceived low welfare rates and wants the park board to help.
Excuse my confusion, but I thought the board was there to efficiently maintain and operate city parks and facilities. There are already dozens of municipal and provincial agencies spending millions of tax dollars helping those on welfare. In a time where tax dollars are being squeezed from all sides, Vancouver residents shouldn't be asked to allow funding for our parks to be used for a completely separate issue.
