Three Vancouver tennis players were crowned B.C. champions last weekend at the 2012 Junior Provincial Championships.

Chased indoors because of rain, the tournament was hosted by the Jericho Tennis Club but players competed on numerous courts around the city, including the Arbutus Club, University of B.C and Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club.

The championship saw 240 players compete in more than 500 matches. The hard-court tennis tournament determined B.C. singles and doubles champions in U-18, U-16, U-14 and U-12 age groups.

Manroop Gill clinched the boys U-14 championship in two sets, defeating his opponent from Port Moody 6-2, 6-0.

Luna Crawford claimed the girls U-14 title by beating a North Vancouver player 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Two Vancouverites went head to head in the girls U-12 final but Lauren Li came from behind after a hard-fought first set to beat Michelle Lim 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.
