Residents are advised to avoid swimming and wading near Clover Point Park, due to a discharge of wastewater in the area Friday night.
The Capital Regional District said the wastewater, the result of construction on the Clover Point Pump Station, may pose a health risk, and advised avoiding the water between Cook Street and Hollywood Place.
Beaches in the area will be posted with advisory signs warning against swimming until a water sample indicates bacteria levels have dropped below the recreational limit.
The CRD will post updated information at www.crd.bc.ca.
