B.C. announces 12 new virus cases since Saturday; Vancouver Island holds at 1

On Monday, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 12 new cases of COVID-19 since Saturday, for a total of 2,530 people who have tested positive to date in B.C. Of those, 267 cases are still active, including 37 people who are in hospital, seven of them in critical care.

Vancouver Island continues to have only a single active known case — of the 127 cases to date, 121 have recovered, five have died and one person is in hospital.

Henry announced four additional deaths on Monday, for a total of 161 in the province.
