Oceanside RCMP nabbed a suspect in a stolen vehicle after he did a U-turn at a roadblock and sped off.
The roadblock was set up when an officer realized the SUV driving in front of him about 4:30 p.m. on July 20 had been reported stolen from Nanaimo in June. He called ahead for the roadblock to be put in place.
As the suspect fled, he drove onto a side road and became struck in a creek bed in a wooded area. Police found the vehicle abandoned and brought in a police dog to track the man.
He was located about 5 p.m. on the Inland Island Highway.
Justin Joseph Kloss, 26, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
