Police investigators have closed their investigation into the death of a man found outside an unoccupied Saanich house last weekend.

Andrew Michael Sidor, 30, was found Saturday on the driveway of a home near Crease Avenue and Wascana Street. Crease runs parallel to the Trans-Canada Highway near Tillicum Road.

On Thursday, Saanich police said investigators had determined that Sidor’s death was not the result of foul play. They would not comment on the cause of death and did not offer any further details.

The B.C. Coroner’s Service is investigating. A spokesperson said it was too early in their investigation to speak to cause of death.

Police initially said they were treating Sidor’s death as suspicious due to the nature of his injuries.

The home where he was found remained surround by police tape for several days as police investigated, and police made a public appeal for help to find his shoes, socks and backpack, which were missing. The items were subsequently found.
