A house fire early Monday on Statlou Crescent in Duncan has displaced eight people from three residences.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP arrived as firefighters from North Cowichan Fire Department’s South End Hall were battling a fire in one side of a duplex that was also affecting the other side of the structure and another home.
A neighbour and one of the occupants woke up the others inside and got them to safety.
Cowichan Tribes is helping those affected.
The fire is not considered suspicious.
