Colwood’s Juan de Fuca library will open July 18, albeit with limited in-person services.

It’s part of the staged reopening of Greater Victoria Public Library branches, all 12 of which were closed by the COVID-19 pandemic on March 16.

The branch in the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre will be open from Monday to Saturday, starting with an 11 a.m. to noon block for seniors or those who are immune-compromised. All members of the public may visit between noon and 4 p.m.

Patrons will be able to pick up items on hold, return items, browse a small collection and borrow immediately, and upgrade an online library card. They can also visit the Grab and Go table outside the branch to collect a B.C. Summer Reading Club starter kit, Books for Babies bag and more.

The Saanich Centennial and Central Saanich branches will reopen no later than July 24, also with limited services. More details are expected soon, as two weeks notice will be given prior to their opening.
