Heavy rain pounded parts of Vancouver Island on the weekend as an “atmospheric river” hammered the B.C. Coast, said Environment Canada.
Ucluelet was the hardest hit with 210 millimetres of rain.

By comparison, the Lower Mainland was not as wet as Vancouver Island’s West Coast:

In addition to rain, the atmospheric river also brought warm temperatures to B.C., and new records were set in several communities.
On the Island, temperatures reached 15.9 C at Victoria International Airport, edging out the 15.6 C mark set in 1932. Records have been kept at the airport since 1932. Campbell River reached 12.0 C, breaking a record of 11.7 C from 1976. Records have been kept in that area since 1958.
