A survey on visits to long-term care homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic has had more than 13,000 responses with two days left to go.

B.C. seniors advocate Isobel Mackenzie said it’s a “strong” result from the 30,000 to 40,000 people who are in public and private long-term care or assisted living in the province.

The survey, released last month, will be available until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, with findings expected by the end of October.

The province is also reviewing the restrictions in long-term care and assisted living during the pandemic.

The survey asks residents of long-term care and assisted-living facilities and their families about their experiences with COVID-19 restrictions.

It can be completed online or downloaded at carehomevisits.ca. To complete the survey over the phone, call the Office of the Seniors Advocate at 1-877-952-3181.
