Oceanside RCMP have made an arrest in the Monday stabbing of a 24-year-old Parksville man.
The man showed up at the Oceanside detachment about 2 p.m. seeking medical attention for a stab wound to his shoulder.
Before being taken to hospital, the mantold police he had been stabbed in a wooded area near Wembley Mall frequented by tenters.
Officers went there and arrested a 28-year-old suspect.
Hudson Klassen made his first appearance in Nanaimo provincial court Tuesday and has been remanded in custody until another court date next week.
He is facing charges related to the stabbing and for being in possession of a knife, which was contrary to conditions previously given to him by the courts.
