Campbell River RCMP found a man dead outside a home in the Vermont Drive area Wednesday after responding to a report of shots fired about 2:30 a.m.
Police said the investigation is in its early stages with the major crimes unit, police dog services and forensics officers all involved.
“We are asking that the general public refrain from travelling in the general area to allow the police space they need to conduct their investigation,” said Campbell River RCMP Const. Maury Tyre. “This is a very serious investigation and we are asking that if anyone has any information regarding the incident that they contact the RCMP directly.”
