Man left with fractured facial bones, concussion after assault: Nanaimo RCMP

Nanaimo RCMP are looking for witnesses or dashcam video after a 40-year-old man suffered fractured facial bones and a concussion Monday when he was struck from behind.

Police were called to Metral Drive and found the injured man being treated by paramedics. He had been walking to the Superstore gas station in the area when he was assaulted.

He does not remember the incident very well and could not provide a description of his attacker.

Police have determined the attack happened near the Metral Drive bus loop about 11:30 a.m., and that the suspect might have fled south.
