Petey, the gargoyle, has been taken and the Nanaimo RCMP want to get him back to his owner.
The concrete statue weighs 45 kilograms and has a wingspan approaching a metre.
Petey was taken from his longtime perch at a Nicol Street home sometime overnight Wednesday. The thief or thieves got to Petey by kicking out a wooden fence panel and grabbing him off the deck.
Anyone with information about Petey is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
