North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are looking for the man who stole a cash box from a Norcross Road farm stand.
Police said surveillance cameras at the Farmstand Boutique show a man prying the cash box off a counter on Monday. The damage forced the stand’s operators to close for a few days for repairs.
“This has been a particularly difficult season for small and local business,” said Const. Brian Wreggitt. “We appreciated any assistance that the community can provide in tracking down the person involved in this theft, and we encourage people to be good neighbours and report suspicious behaviour around farm stands to the owners or the police.”
Farm-stand operators are advised to keep cash boxes hidden and to empty them often.
The man seen in surveillance images is white with short brown hair and a brown beard, and was wearing dark pants and a dark shirt.
