Rob Duncan withdraws from Victoria mayoral race, throws support behind Geoghegan

Victoria mayoral candidate Rob Duncan is withdrawing from the race and is backing candidate Michael Geoghegan.

Duncan was one of the first candidates to announce he was challenging incumbent Mayor Lisa Helps.

In a statement, Duncan said that his and Geoghegan’s housing platforms were “remarkably similar” and that he felt Geoghegan had the best chance of defeating Helps.

Duncan ran for mayor as Changes the Clown in the 2014 election to raise awareness of child poverty, drawing 253 votes.
