A 23-year-old Saanich man had his car impounded for a week and was given a $368 ticket after West Shore RCMP clocked him doing 100 kilometres an hour in a 50 km/h zone.

The traffic stop was made about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday on Ocean Boulevard, which Const. Nancy Saggar said has been noted by Colwood council as a problem area for speeding.

“You can expect to see our officers routinely conducting speed enforcement in this area along with other speeding hotspots identified in the West Shore,” Saggar said.
