Victoria police are investigating a trio of likely related incidents Saturday night in which people were assaulted with bear spray.

The attacks began just after 7 p.m. when police were called to Pandora Avenue near Quadra Street for a report that a man had been been sprayed.

Both the suspect and the victim had left by the time police arrived but officers managed to obtain suspect descriptions.

About 9 p.m., officers were again called to Pandora near Quadra for another report of a man having been pepper sprayed. The victim was not co-operative with officers and was treated by paramedics. The description of the suspect was similar to one of the suspect from the first incident.

That was followed about 10 p.m. by a call to a hostel in the 700-block of Pandora where a man had reportedly been sprayed and was cleaning himself in the kitchen. The man confirmed he had been sprayed but did not give any further information.

A suspect in the first case is described as white, 30- to 40-years-old and wearing a baseball cap, a black jacket over a grey hoodie, blue jeans and black shoes. He was riding a bike and carried a backpack.

The suspect in the second case is described as white, 20- to 25-years-old and wearing a black T-shirt with a circular white logo, tan pants and black shoes.

Call Victoria police at 250-995-7654, extension 1, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) with any information.
