West Shore RCMP recover $30,000 worth of stolen tools, equipment

An extensive investigation by West Shore RCMP culminated in the recovery of stolen tools and equipment worth more than $30,000. Police began investigating in May and carried out a search warrant at a storage unit in Saanich on July 3.

West Shore RCMP carried out a search warrant at a storage unit in Saanich on July 3 and found more than $30,000 worth of stolen tools and equipment.

An extensive investigation by West Shore RCMP culminated in the recovery of stolen tools and equipment worth more than $30,000.

Police began investigating in May and carried out a search warrant at a storage unit in Saanich on July 3. A 57-year-old man known to frequent the West Shore was identified.

Cpl. Fred Ritchie, of the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, said police found a “massive” amount of property linked to thefts reported across Greater Victoria.

Police are in the process of returning the items to their owners.
